PRAWN MASALA

Prawn is my most favourite non-veg item. And this prawn masala that my mom prepares is so amazing that while my mother prepares in kitchen and almost 90% is done,i used to taste it frequently :),And the kadai sadham (South indians , i believe will be familiar)has no words to describe.for who are not aware, kadai sadam is leaving a bit of thokku/masala in cooked pan itself and mixing it with white rice when its still hot......

INGREDIENTS
prawns-1/4kg
Onion-2 big
tomato-1 big
chilli powder-1 teaspoon
coriander powder-2 teaspoon
turmeric powder-1 tablespoon
salt - to taste
oil-4 tablespoon

For seasoning

garlic-2 small piece (crushed)
ginger-2 small piece (crushed)
fennel seeds-1 teaspoon
curry leaves-few.

PREPARATION
Pour oil in a pan/cooker add items given for seasoning.let it splutter. Now add chopped onions, cook well.once its done add chopped tomatoes add little salt so that it smashes well and binds with onion together as a paste like consistency....now add the prawns  and cook for few minutes.no need to add water wait until water oozes from prawns.  add chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder allow it to boil with little water for 5 minutes in medium flame. stir occasionally until water drains.Delicious prawn masala is ready. Now if you like pepper flavour add pepper powder mix well and leave it for a couple of minutes and serve hot.........Ideal for rice, naan, parottas and rotis....

TIPS
1.Dont add too much of water to this dish as prawns will be overcooked.for 1/4 kg half cup water will do.
2.Please note that crushed ginger-garlic is for seasoning, not the ginger garlic paste. The taste of this masala mainly based on crushed ginger-garlic for seasoning.
