I have done this slight thicker.....If you need you can make it thinner........Make sure the inner dough is stiff so that you can roll/spread it......

PREPARATION TIME- 15 MINUTES
COOKING TIME 20 MINUTES
INGREDIENTS
Maida-1 cup
Ghee/oil-as required
salt-as required for maida dough
gramdal-1 cup
turmeric powder-2 teaspoon
jaggery-3/4 cup
elaichi-little

add Jaggery syrup,elaichi to dal
Stir it
thick consistency like this
Cool and Grind it
Make balls of it
Mix Maida,salt,turmeric with water
Maida batter close and rest 20 minutes
Pat the dough,take gramdal ball
Place the ball in dough,close it
pat it and place in heated tawa
Cooking in tawa
Poli is ready
PREPARATION
Take maida,turmeric,salt mix and form a dough slightly thick,more like parotta dough....Close and leave it for 20 minutes.... Boil gramdal with water in a pressure pan . The dal should be well boiled and seperate.(donot overcook).Take jaggery in a pan add little water to dissolve jaggery.Heat the jaggery and switch off when it reaches thick consistency...Now add gramdal,elaichi to it until its dry.Allow it to cool and grind well.Make small balls of it.Now take maida dough,make a ball of it.Pat it/roll it and place on banana leaf/plastic cover.Take gramdal ball and place it in maida roll.Close it and pat it again of your desired size...Heat tava and cook on both sides with ghee.Tasty poli is now ready.....
