KUTHIRAIVAALI PONGAL/BARNYARD PONGAL

MILLET PONGAL
Pongal is such an easy to prepare dish...You know you will never feel the difference in taste when you make pongal with kuthiraivaali.I love it so much...and that too with gothsu....and if you have it hot hot , nothing can beat it...yummy yum.I will share you easy way of preparing gothsu soon.
Today our breakfast was garmi garam pongal with quickfix gothsu. Hows that?





SERVES 3  
PREPARATION TIME- 5 MINUTES
COOKING TIME 15-20 MINUTES

INGREDIENTS
Kuthiraivaali rice- 1 cup
moong dal- 1/2 cup
water- 3 cups
salt- as per taste

SEASONING
Jeera-1 teaspoon
pepper-1/2 teaspoon
curry leaves-few
cashews-6
fine chopped ginger-1 tablespoon
asafoedita- 2 pinch
ghee/oil-4 tablespoons

Wash and cook rice and dal

Pressure cook it for 3-4 steams

Add seasoning,salt to rice mixture

Pongal is done.

PREPARATION
Wash the rice and dal and add the water and keep it in a cooker wih 1 spoon ghee for 3-4 whistles,in medium flame. After pressure turns down , Put ghee in a pan add items in seasoning and mix it with the cooked rice and dal with required salt.Keep the cooker in low flame and mix all.Now tasty barnyard pongal is ready.

Note.
For best taste season pongal with ghee,serve hot.
Keep the cooker in medium flame for 1 whistle and turn flame to low for another 2 whistles.
While cooking,make sure dal is at bottom, barnyard is at top.
