ULUNDU SAADHAM (URUD DAL RICE)

 A  very healthy, very easy to prepare dish........hardly will take 5 minutes to prepare...Well I wont give a fake promise that it tastes extraordinary.............This will be of normal taste but very healthy....

INGREDIENTS
parboiled  Rice-1 cup
black urud dal-1/4 cup
grated coconut-1/4 cup
jeera-1/2 teaspoon
garlic-2 crushed
vendayam(methi seeds)-1/4 teaspoon
gingelly oil- 2 tablespoon
salt-as per taste



PREPARATION
Split/break the whole urud dal using the mixer.Roast it in a pan in low flame for about 2 minutes.Wash rice and add enough quantity of water. Now add  grated coconut, vendayam,garlic,jeera,salt,oil,uruddal together with rice and pressure cook the same. Tasty and very healthy urundhu saadam is ready.....

Note
For rice you can add water as usual to boil.(I use 1:2 water for rice)
for urud dal water  ratio is 1:3.

for instance, for 1 cup of rice and 1/4 cup dal  2  3/4 cup of  water will do.

Thuvaiyal is apt sidedish for this.Yellu thuvaiyal is good for this.....
