ONION CHUTNEY


ONION CHUTNEY
This chutney I used to prepare when we run short of tomatoes....A simple chutney but gives a good taste. It wont take you more than 2-3 minutes,but the taste will be really good...Today we had it with yummy yummy rava dosa.........









PREPARATION TIME-3-5 minutes
SERVES- 2 TO 3

INGREDIENTS

Dry  red chillies- 3-4
tamarind- small pinch
onion-2
garlic-4 pods
salt-as required

For seasoning(optional)
mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon
urud dal-1 teaspoon
curry leaves- little
asafoetida-a pinch

PREPARATION
             Pour oil in a pan and fry the chillies,tamarind for about 30 seconds in low flame. Now remove them from fire.Add little oil saute onions,garlic for a minute.cool and now grind together with salt. After the chutney is done pour oil in a pan and add the items given for seasoning.Mix it to the chutney.Ideal for idly,dosa and paniyaram.

NOTE
Grind tamarind,chillies first then add onion for better grinding.
Seasoning is optional , I dint do for this chutney........
