A very
simple and easy to prepare dish..Also equally tasty…In southindia kichdi is
mostly prepared at special occasions or when guests come to home.
INGREDIENTS
Semolina/rava-1cup
Onion-1 small
Chopped Beans-1
tablespoon
Chopped Carrot-1
tablespoon
Chilly-2 chopped
Chopped cauliflower-1 tablespoon-optional
Fresh peas- 1 tablespoon
Crushed– garlic -1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder-1/4 teaspoon
Salt – to taste
Ghee/oil/vanaspathi-3 tablespoon
Coriander leaves-few
For seasoning
Cinnamon-2
Clove-2
Brinji leaf-1
Elaichi-1
PREPARATION
In a pan boil 2
cups of hot water to add in rava. In another pan Pour
ghee and add items in
seasoning.after it splutters add crushed garlic sauté well.Now add chopped vegetables and little
salt, chillies and sauté well.add little water if required to boil the
vegetables.Once vegetables are boiled
and water is dries,Now add rava,salt required,turmeric powder and sauté it in low flame.Oncerava turns hot
and you get aroma of rava add 2 cups of
hot water stir and close the pan for
five minutes. Add 1 tablespoon
vanaspathi before turning off the stove.delicious kichdadi is ready.
Tips
While adding hot
water to rava add little by little and stir it continuously to avoid lumps.
Add vanaspathi/dalda for smooth
texture at the end.
