ADAI

       

   This is the version of adai which is done in my home . I love this adai preparation compared to preparation of adai with mixed dals...In my house they prepare the adai only with gramdal and idly rice.....Crispier outside and softer inside....wow.....But you need some patience to try it....As it takes sometime to cook.... please Try it and let me know...




INGREDIENTS
Idly rice-1 cup
gram dal-3/4 cup
red chilly-3
chopped coconut- 2 tablespoons
salt-aS required

For seasoning

mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon
urud dal-1 teaspoon
curry leaves- little
asafoetida-a pinch

PREPARATION

Wash and Soak the rice and dal for 2 hours and grind with rest of the ingredients with salt and grind to a coarse paste.pour oil in a pan and add the items given for seasoning.Mix it to the batter.Heat the tawa and spread the batter slightly thick.Cook like  dosas on both sides , serve hot.

NOTE
The batter should be coarse grinded for crispyness.....
