This chutney is a chettinad receipe and since this chutney looks rose in colour this chutney is called rojapoo chutney.
INGREDIENTS
dry red chillies- 15 to 20
tamarind- small lemon size
salt-aS required
For seasoning
mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon
urud dal-1 teaspoon
curry leaves- little
asafoetida-a pinch
PREPARATION
Pour oil in a pan and fry the chillies for a minute in low flame. Now remove chillies from fire and add tamarind in the same pan for about 10 seconds.Remove it from pan allow it to cool.Now grind chilly, tamarind and salt. After the chutney is done pour oil in a pan and add the items given for seasoning.Mix it to the chutney.Ideal for idly,dosa and paniyaram.
