CHETTINAD SPICY CHUTNEY



INGREDIENTS

pearl onions-1 cup
tomato-1
dry  red chillies- 7
tamarind- small gooseberry size
salt-aS required

For seasoning

mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon
urud dal-1 teaspoon
curry leaves- little
asafoetida-a pinch

PREPARATION


             Grind all the items in ingredients to chutney. After the chutney is done pour oil in a pan and add the items given for seasoning.Mix it to the chutney.Ideal for idly and dosa.

NOTE

 Donot saute onion and tomatoes. The taste of this chutney is mainly on the raw flavour of onion and tomatoes.
